'Arts Award @ BPM' inspires young people to grow their arts and leadership talents: it's creative, valuable and accessible. We take children and young people on a creative journey, exploring the arts world, discovering their potential as artists, developing leadership skills – and gaining a recognised level 2 qualification on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). We connect young people with the arts world – as the audience or visitor, behind the scenes, learning from creative professionals, or researching the work of artists and arts organisations, gaining critical-thinking and organisational skills. As well as gaining qualifications, completing Arts Award gives young people a wide range of transferable skills. In independent research Arts Award achievers mentioned the ongoing positive impact on their confidence, communication skills and creativity, which are nurtured by all levels. They also develop entrepreneurialism, independence and self-motivation while learning to reason, reflect and network more effectively. So it's great preparation for further study and the world of work, whatever their future holds.
BPM is a multi genre musical workshop and publishing services based at Moorcroft recording studios, Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire. Working primarily with Social, Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) Schools and Social services, we take students of all experience and abilities through the writing, recording and release process of becoming a registered artist. Whether they’ve never entered a recording studio before, or have already released songs, or anywhere in between. We provide a relaxed non restrictive format that allows students to express themselves and show their creativity. At BPM students will quickly learn how to correctly structure songs, write music, lyrics and melodies, and have their finished work recorded, mixed and mastered by our in house producer Tom Fox. Tom has over 20 years experience in the music industry and the gold discs on the wall to prove it! He has recorded every genre of music you can think of, engineering countless singles and albums for multiple artists, including Brit award nominees and stars of TV.
